“Scottish Cross” – Harris Family Farm
This family farm is situated on 100 acres of natural forested land and is treasured for its diverse bounty of apples, pears, berries, beans, greens, farm fresh eggs, and other edibles. Jane and Pam Harris operate this family business that has been in operation since the 1850s. Great-great grandfather Matthew Blair ensured that the property would enjoy seven generations over 160 years when he first homesteaded. He and his brothers built and operated a lumber mill. The Harris barn quilt graces a small barn, the apple barn, and pie shop that is at least 100 years old.
Jane and Pam continue working and preserving the beauty of the land while providing others with healthy fresh products and goodies from their pie shop throughout the year. Check their website for family events, guided tours, jam-making days, and visits with Santa and Christmas trees during the holiday season. The barn quilt pattern selected by the family and painted by Jane, is the “Scottish Cross”, which depicts their family heritage.
